Let's start with the coffee preparation. When using a filter coffee machine, the disposable coffee filter can be replaced with a permanent filter. This is more sustainable and can be washed off and reused after each use. To measure out the exact amount of coffee powder for the filter, we recommend using a coffee measuring spoon. The remaining coffee powder can be stored in our airtight coffee tin. This allows the coffee to retain its many flavours.

You can also make very good coffee with a pod or capsule coffee machine. But where is the best place to store the capsules or pads? They finally have a place in the capsule holders for Nespresso, Tassimo, Dolce Gusto and Nespresso Vertuo. Coffee pods are also given a new home in an airtight storage tin. If you want to avoid waste and save money in the long term, you can also use alternative permanent pads.

Particularly aromatic coffee can be prepared with a filter coffee machine. A tamper can be used to press down the coffee powder before it is poured into the machine, which ensures a more intense flavour. Any coffee grounds produced can be collected in a tapping box. And if you want to make espresso in particular, it's best to use an espresso maker.

Another method of making coffee is the classic fully automatic coffee machine. The required coffee beans can be stored in a storage tin to protect them from moisture and odours. A fully automatic coffee machine is particularly easy to clean with a cleaner for milk systems or the special cleaner for fully automatic coffee machines.

Did you know?

On average, men drink 3.5 cups of coffee a day.
The average for women is slightly lower, at 3.2 cups per day.

While the coffee is brewing in the coffee machine, the milk can already be prepared. After portioning in the milk jug, the milk frother quickly transforms it into delicious milk foam. It becomes particularly frothy when whole milk is used. As soon as the coffee is brewed, it can be poured into a cup together with the milk foam and the coffee enjoyment begins.

Pimp your coffee! - Vanilla latte

Ingredients (for one cup):

  • 100ml freshly brewed coffee
  • 100ml milk
  • 1/2 vanilla pod
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Preparation:

  1. Cut the vanilla pod in half, slit lengthways and scrape out the seeds with the back of a knife.
  2. Heat the milk with the vanilla pulp and vanilla sugar, stirring constantly (do not bring to the boil!), then froth the mixture with a milk frother.
  3. Now fill the glass halfway with the freshly brewed coffee and top with a cap of hot vanilla milk foam.
  4. Sprinkle with brown sugar and serve. The glass can be decorated with a vanilla pod.

Xavax Barista cleaning products make the tedious task of cleaning coffee machines quick and easy. The brush set is initially suitable for cleaning the machine, a cleaning tablet removes stubborn dirt and the multi-silicone grease ensures a smooth brewing process without squeaking. The grinder cleaner also effectively removes coffee residue from the grinder, while the premium descaler prevents new limescale build-up.

What to do with the coffee grounds? Our sustainability tip

Coffee grounds are more than just waste! It is ideal as a plant fertiliser as it contains valuable nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. Dry the coffee grounds well, mix them into the soil and use them to support the healthy growth of your houseplants. So before the coffee grounds go in the bin next time, let them dry well, work them into the soil and do something good for your houseplants.

Coffee-time is quality-time! Enjoy your coffee moment with perfectly prepared coffee - supported by the Xavax Barista coffee accessories.
